Translators and Interpreters
A company specializing in manufacturing casting and continuous rolling equipment for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
To convert the client’s native .DWG files into formats compatible with Dotwords’ technology, to translate over 700 technical drawings originally produced in Italian for a new steel and aluminum processing plant into two languages (English and Polish), and to deliver the final translated content as PDF files.
Creation of a custom workflow to adapt .DWG file formats; layout adjustments for bilingual file formatting; consulting on high-volume, complex technical translations; editing on original files; proofreading.
The Dotwords team managed the preparation of the native .DWG files, adjusting the original layout and creating space for the Polish text provided by the client to produce a bilingual version.
Using proprietary software developed by Dotwords, the team extracted translatable content based on predefined settings, generating an intermediate file compatible with Dotwords' translation technology.
After ensuring that the translated content matched the original perfectly, the team finalized the project in executable .DWG and PDF formats.
The original plugin developed by Dotwords, which enabled the extraction of content for translation, allowed the export and reinsertion of text without affecting the final graphics.
This optimized the workflow and made it possible to create and share a highly valuable content database for the client’s future use.

Exporting technical manuals generated from the client’s authoring platform in .XML DITA format and adapting them to Dotwords technology; translating content into multiple languages: Italian, German, English, French, Spanish, Czech, Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Slovenian, Slovak, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish; republishing the files as .pdf documents on the client’s platform..
Creation of a fully customized workflow: file export and preparation, content management, translation into various languages, proofreading, quality control, and publishing the final translated .pdf files on the client’s custom platform.
The client uses an advanced platform for creating and managing text content (authoring). The system is based on the creation of standard modules (with linguistic and other variants) in .XML DITA format, which are then automatically assembled into manuals for individual products.
The company granted the Dotwords team direct access to the platform to export content for translation. After extracting the files, they were converted into a format compatible with Dotwords translation technology. The files were translated into different languages depending on the target markets. Once translated and reviewed, the final manuals, generated as .pdf files, were republished on the client’s platform for their customer base.
During the project, consulting was also provided to improve the client’s platform. In particular, we recommended adopting a graphic layout suitable for all languages. This enhancement, accepted and integrated into the process, significantly reduced the client’s manual localization costs.

Business operating in the insurance industry
Translation of insurance product informational documents from Italian into German for consultation and distribution in the province of Bolzano. Specifically, the project involved the translation of 15 “life” insurance products (each product consisting of at least 3 documents – insurance conditions; pre-contractual information document/additional pre-contractual information document; product sheet) + 1 “car” product + 1 “motorcycle” product. The original documents were in .pdf format, laid out by an external partner.
Simultaneous translation of files by a team of translators using Dotwords technology; text revision; layout checking of the .pdf files carried out by an external partner.
The Dotwords team handled the translation of the native files from Italian to German. Each “life” insurance product was divided into several subcategories, each assigned to a single translator to speed up and simplify both the translation and subsequent revision process.
An alignment activity was then carried out based on previous translations done in other languages for the same content and client, to ensure consistency and continuity throughout the work.
Finally, a layout check was conducted by an external partner to deliver the documents to the client in .pdf format.

Iconic Italian Jewelry Brand
Translate two commercial documents originally in English ("Art of Selling" and "New Collection") into 8 target languages (Italian, French, Spanish, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese); deliver all layouts in .ppt format; translate all images contained in the presentations (sent in InDesign format, to be translated and embedded within the .ppt presentations).

The Dotwords team managed the translation of native English files into 8 different target languages. Some files were non-editable and were made translatable through Dotwords technology.
The .ppt files provided by the client were integrated with the separately supplied images, which were translated and inserted into the target PowerPoint presentations.
Image translation required particular technical effort (for format conversion) and linguistic work, involving a transcreation process.
The project manager then took care of editing and finalizing the executable .ppt files.
